Texas Odd Files Volume II: feat. the Angel of Goliad, The Five Boats That Should Not Have Worked, and The Goat Gland Doctor

Three true Texas stories that sound invented.

Texas Odd Files Volume II digs into three remarkable chapters of Texas history through illustrated, collectible story files designed for curious readers, classrooms, homeschool study, and anyone who enjoys finding the strange detail hiding inside the historical record.

Inside Volume II:

The Surrender That Didn’t Save Them
Follow James Fannin’s command from the delayed retreat from Goliad through the Battle of Coleto, surrender, and the events that gave Texas the cry “Remember Goliad.”

The Five Boats That Should Not Have Worked
Follow the disastrous Narváez expedition from Spain to Florida, across the Gulf on improvised rafts, and onto the Texas coast in one of the strangest survival stories in early Texas history.

The Goat-Gland Doctor
Meet John R. Brinkley, the controversial doctor who combined questionable medicine, powerful radio broadcasting, and the Texas-Mexico border to build an extraordinary media empire from Del Rio.

Each file combines researched history with illustrated storytelling, maps, objects, people, and the odd details that make the past easier to remember.
